You never know what and when will happen in Mexico City. Never. Filming with the Mexican crew was an amazing experience. We filmed the Zocalo square and the Templo Mayor.
The highest pyramids in the Americas – Teotihuacan –a pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun.
When I arrived to see the highest pyramids in the Americas in Teotihuacan – a pre-Columbian city – I walked the Avenue of the Dead straight to the Pyramid of The Sun. It was difficult to get to the top. High steps, high altitude and the heat made it exhausting. From the top I could see the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun. I was deeply moved by what I saw. An incredible symbol of power was hidden in the stones of these constructions.
Mexico is powerful and colou rful. I visited the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, and the House of Frida Kahlo – it all imprinted vivid memories in me. Pre-Columbian art is still strongly represented in contemporary Mexican art and culture. It is very different from other countries of South America, for instance Chile or even Peru, where pre-columbian cultures were much more dominated by cultrues brought from other continets.
