L’Espace Frans Krajcberg
Individual Mobility grant from Culture Moves Europe, under Creative Europe, enabled the development of my cultural heritage research at L’Espace Frans Krajcberg in Paris, France. #IndividualMobility #CultureMovesEurope / #CreativeEurope
The mobility enabled me to conduct in-depth archival and conceptual research, focusing on the life and work of Frans Krajcberg.
The project investigates the relationship between historical trauma, memory, and artistic practice, with particular attention to how unresolved trauma can shape a lifelong creative process.
During my research at L’Espace Frans Krajcberg, I explored the artworks presented in the gallery, alongside archival films, photographic materials, and extensive documentation related to the artist. This direct engagement allowed me to approach Krajcberg’s work not only as an artistic practice, but as a vital part of cultural heritage shaped by history, memory, and ecological consciousness.
I also established valuable new professional contacts that will support the further development of my project. These connections open pathways for continued research, collaboration, and access to additional archives.
An essential part of my stay was reflecting on Krajcberg’s cultural legacy — discussing the lasting impact of his work on contemporary artists and on the evolution of ecological thought in art.
His practice stands as a powerful testimony to how cultural heritage can emerge from trauma and transform into a form of environmental and ethical engagement.
My time here was highly productive and will contribute to the dissemination and deeper understanding of this important cultural heritage.
